Data Product Manager – 0-to-1 Product Innovation & AI Prototyping
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Data Product Manager to lead the full lifecycle of data-centric products, with a strong emphasis on 0-to-1 product ideation, prototyping, and execution. In this role, you will translate ambiguous opportunities into validated, scalable data products that align with user needs and deliver measurable business value within the Data Office. This is a 3-month contract position based on-site in Juno Beach, FL, ideal for a hands-on product leader who thrives at the intersection of data strategy, AI innovation, and cross-functional collaboration.
You will own the product journey from initial concept through prototype validation and into production-ready delivery, working closely with data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Define Product Strategy & Vision: Craft a data product strategy and roadmap aligned with enterprise goals, evolving with user needs and scaling from 0-to-1 delivery to full production.
- Lead 0-to-1 Discovery & Ideation: Transform undefined problem spaces into structured product concepts with clear business cases through design sessions, user interviews, surveys, and competitive analysis.
- Rapid Prototyping & Validation: Develop mockups, wireframes, and low-fidelity prototypes; conduct usability testing and iterate based on stakeholder and end-user feedback to de-risk investment.
- Architect AI-Enabled Prototypes: Design and deliver functional prototypes incorporating AI agents, generative AI, ML models, or LLM-based components, defining agent objectives, orchestration logic, and evaluation criteria.
- Drive Product Development: Partner with engineering, solution architects, and business units to translate validated prototypes into production features, prioritizing based on business impact and technical feasibility.
- Oversee Data Pipeline & Tooling: Guide the use of data migration and transformation tools such as Databricks, AWS Glue, or DMS to support robust data pipelines within the product lifecycle.
- Manage Stakeholders & Adoption: Engage cross-functional stakeholders to gather requirements, communicate product status, provide training, and champion product adoption across the organization.
- Monitor Performance & ROI: Define and track KPIs, manage product budgets, and prepare reports, presentations, and product collateral including charters, case studies, and executive summaries.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related analytical field.
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in product management with a focus on data products, discovery, and 0-to-1 product delivery.
- Strong technical background with an understanding of data technologies, AI/ML tooling, and data migration frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead ideation cycles, conduct user research, and build prototypes that validate product concepts.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Master's degree in an analytical field.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, AWS Glue, DMS, or equivalent data pipeline tools.
- Familiarity with designing AI agents and integrating LLM-based components into product prototypes.
- Experience with product-level P&L forecasting and budget management.
