Job Summary

The position is responsible for performing complex analysis and interpretation of data, including the monitoring and optimization of labor resources, evaluation of workforce productivity, and assessment of operational processes to support system-wide labor management initiatives. This role will analyze and present historical trends and key performance metrics to drive informed decision-making and ensure optimal departmental and organizational effectiveness. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing and delivering data-driven insights, dashboards, and reports for hospital, system, and board-level stakeholders, with a focus on improving labor utilization, enhancing productivity, and aligning staffing strategies with organizational goals.

Job Description

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in health care administration, finance, business or a related field required; Master’s in Business or Health Management preferred

Licenses/Certifications: (None)

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Four (4) years experience in healthcare analytics or business operations

  • Personal computer experience should include working with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook at the intermediate level at a minimum

  • Experience and knowledge in various dashboard/reporting systems such as Tableau and Sigma

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate thoughts and ideas

  • Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and/or projects at one time

  • Customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with executive leadership and staff from all departments within and outside the Company

  • Problem solving skills with the ability to look for root causes and implementable, workable solutions

  • Analytical and interpretation skills including departmental, utilization, financial and operations data

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Performs analysis and interpretation of labor and operational data to evaluate clinical, financial, and workforce outcomes, with a focus on labor utilization and efficiency.

  • Assists in the development, implementation, and ongoing support of system-wide labor management strategies to optimize staffing and resource allocation.

  • Develops and maintains trend analysis reports that monitor key labor management metrics (including productivity, worked hours, and staffing levels), comparing performance to internal targets and external benchmarks to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Supports system-wide labor productivity and benchmarking initiatives by maintaining tools, validating data, and contributing to standard methodologies.

  • Serves as a resource for labor standards, productivity methodologies, and data integrity, ensuring accurate and consistent use of labor management and benchmarking systems.

  • Produces and analyzes productivity reports, including worked hours per unit of service (WH/UOS), to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Provides analytical support, training, and education to operational leaders on labor management principles, productivity metrics, and reporting tools, ensuring a strong customer service focus.

  • Partners with department and system leaders to identify root causes of labor variances, inefficiencies, and staffing challenges, and supports the development of actionable solutions.

  • Analyzes and evaluates system and facility-level labor management performance to support operational improvements, productivity optimization, and performance management initiatives.

  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.

  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as a resource to less experienced staff.
