Description
Greenskeeper for Raymond Memorial Golf Course. Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the care and maintenance of a municipal golf course; performs related duties as required. Previous golf course experience preferred.
Hours:
Monday-Friday: 5:30 am – 2:00 pm
Weekends: 5:30 am – 9:30 am; can fluctuate as needed.
Starting pay:
$26.44

Oversees, participates in, and trains employees engaged in the care and maintenance of a municipal golf course in accordance to industry standards;
Mows, waters, fertilizes, and aerates turf using various types of golf course maintenance equipment;
Rakes sandtraps, set pin placements, moves tee markers, or performs other needed adjustments before opening to players and o maintain playability throughout the day;
Operates equipment as required to maintain greens, fairways, tees, and bunkers;
Installs, repairs, and operates hydraulic, electric, and/or manual irrigation systems;
Reseeds tees, greens, fairways, and replaces divots and worn turf areas as needed;
Plants and transplants trees and shrubs; trims tree limbs and disposes of brush and other debris; adjusts golf course vegetation with consideration to aesthetics of the course and impacts on wildlife habitats or biodiversity;
Identifies various turf diseases; applies pesticides and fertilizers as needed; follows procedures regarding environmental and clean water concerns in compliance with Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans;
Installs and repairs drain tile, water lines, valves, and control boxes;
Maintains various pumping stations, wells, and other water intake stations;
Repairs and maintains buildings, bridges, and benches on municipal golf courses;
Performs periodic maintenance and mechanical repair of golf course maintenance equipment;
May maintain or prepare records on work performed or supplies ordered.

One (1) year of experience in the construction and/or maintenance of a regulation golf course. Substitution: Completion of an accredited program in turfgrass science, turfgrass management, or related field may be substituted for the required experience.
Possession of a valid driver's license.

Possession of a valid certificate as a Certified Public Operator (Turf Pest Control category) by the end of the probationary period.
