Your Role
Key responsibilities in your new role
- Strategic Laboratory Governance & Compliance: Formally serve as the Principal Lead overseeing and driving strategic improvements for Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety, and Energy Management Systems across the entire Failure Analysis laboratory.
- Expert-Level Failure Investigation & Advanced Operations: Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in executing complex physical failure verification and analyzing advanced root causes in novel electronic components using state-of-the-art analytical equipment (SEM, EDS, SAM, Plasma/Wet Decapsulation, and Mechanical Cross-section).
- Global Infrastructure Expansion & Technology Alignment: Lead extensive collaborations with cross-functional and global engineering divisions to strategically plan, install, and establish cutting-edge equipment within the failure analysis facility.
- Global Process Transfer & Knowledge Continuity: Spearhead and govern the successful transfer of intricate microcontroller FA processes across global sites, ensuring seamless global knowledge transfer, standardization, and process continuity.
- Advanced Electrical Innovation: Pioneer customized and specialized electrical verification methods specifically tailored for next-generation advanced sensor devices and emerging semiconductor technologies.
- Senior Mentorship & Culture of Excellence: Establish and deliver comprehensive technical reviews, master work instructions, and advanced training curricula, mentoring senior/junior engineers to foster a high-performance culture within the organization.
- Global Customer Quality & Escalation Support: Provide high-level technical leadership in global internal and external customer complaint investigations, conclusively discovering failure root causes for critical escalations.
- Global Audit Leadership: Lead high-stakes pre-customer and corporate audits, ensuring flawless compliance, successful NPI transition, and risk mitigation for product releases.
Your Profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
- Bachelor's degree, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related engineering field.
- 7+ years of progressive, hands-on experience in failure analysis within the semiconductor industry, electronic manufacturing, or a highly related field (prior experience in a Senior, Staff, or Specialist role is required).
- Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and deep technical proficiency in advanced failure analysis techniques, microscopy, fault isolation, and complex equipment including SEM, EDS, SAM, Plasma/Wet Decapsulation, and Mechanical Cross-section.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale, international process transfers and collaborating effectively with global engineering divisions and stakeholders.
- Experience in managing and auditing laboratory quality, safety, and compliance systems (such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to resolve high-visibility failure escalations and technical challenges.
- Excellent cross-functional communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills to effectively interface with management, global engineers, and suppliers.
