Description
Eaton’s Mobility Group is seeking a Global Product Director to lead the go to market strategy for the Power Connections portfolio. The preferred location for this role will be Southfield, Michigan.
## What you’ll do:
The Global Product Line Director is accountable for the growth, profitability, and strategic direction of the global product portfolio. You will accomplish this by developing & executing long-term global product line strategies while actively managing the product portfolio and technology development. You will lead the execution of product life cycle management, commercialization, penetration strategies, and pricing for products across the portfolio. You will partner with regional businesses, who are focused on near-term production and global operations to set cross-functional performance goals that drive market share growth and enhance customer satisfaction.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute global product strategies and technical roadmaps that integrate commercial and technical trends from regional sales, global marketing, and engineering.
- Make aligned, efficient decisions on product portfolio evolution—growth, harvest, divestment—based on financial and operational insights.
- Assess product line performance across sales, profitability, manufacturing, and operational metrics.
- Lead and execute NPI programs from pursuit to launch, ensuring cross-regional and cross-functional alignment, and oversee engineering, program management, and advanced manufacturing teams to achieve timely, cost-effective, and high-quality product launches.
- Drive margin improvement through footprint optimization, cost-out initiatives, and process enhancements.
- Foster a high-performing, inclusive team by identifying and cultivating critical skills, driving talent development initiatives, and embedding a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration aligned with long-term global product goals.
- Collaborate with operations leadership to set and meet performance expectations (OTD, lead-time, productivity).
- Effectively partner with the regions for cross-market products & solutions with a single face to the global customer; effectively coordinating global customer priorities, opportunities, and challenges.
- Facilitate agile, streamlined decision-making (e.g., CARs, structure, quotes) to enhance responsiveness and ease of doing business, while serving as a key approver in product line decisions in accordance with the Mobility Approval Authority Matrix.
## Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, business administration or related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a leader of people.
- Minimum of 10 years of combined leadership experience working in the following key disciplines: commercial marketing, offer and product management- leading a go to market strategic plan for price, placement, promotion, services and solutions in the power connections space or adjacent product offerings.
- The successful incumbent will have worked with key functions such as sales, customer experience management as well as partnering with engineering, program management, supply chain and operations.
- This leader should also have direct experience working with global centers of excellence across multiple business channels to enhance and flex engineering capacity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Masters from an accredited institution preferred.
- Experience working directly with automotive and industrial connector products, including engagement with OEMs or Tier suppliers in product development, application engineering, or commercial roles.
- Prior experience leading global, cross functional teams in a matrixed environment managing product portfolio, driving operational excellence, and developing a new product line portfolios.
- M&A experience (acquisitions, divestitures, JVs, other partnerships) including identification, due diligence, and/or integration is preferred but not required.
- A demonstrated record of delivering large scale results in multiple business contexts (start-up, growth, fix it / turnaround, steady state).
- Former P&L experience is an asset but not mandatory for this role.

- Ability to partner with operations to drive margin improvement through footprint optimization, productivity gains, and sourcing leverage.
- Strong customer engagement skills to support recovery efforts, launch readiness, and diversification into new Industrial segments such as data centers.
