The Position
P&C Integration Product Owner - RDT Group Functions
The People & Culture (P&C) Integration Product Owner will be a key member of the People & Culture Engineering team, part of Roche Digital Technology (RDT). Our primary business stakeholders are People & Culture at Roche. The P&C Engineering team operates as a foundational force across various P&C products, providing the essential enablers and technical capabilities required to meet strategic objectives.
As the Integration Architect/Product Owner, you will ensure that the "API-First" and "Reusable Asset" philosophy is applied consistently across all technical deliveries, providing hands-on architectural guidance to our developers and managed service partners.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will apply your technical expertise and leadership to drive architectural excellence across our integration ecosystem. You will:
Translate high-level solution architecture designs into clear, actionable technical blueprints for implementation by the development squads, collaborating closely with system architects, integration leads, and business analysts
Oversee cross-squad technical alignment by identifying dependencies early in the design phase to proactively prevent architectural debt.
Mentor and provide deep-dive technical guidance to our Managed Service (MS) partners to ensure all deliveries strictly align with Roche's architectural standards.
Discover and identify common integration needs across teams that can be successfully converted into reusable MuleSoft services.
Own, manage, and prioritize the product backlog end-to-end for your specific component to maximize product value and support the squad in setting meaningful sprint goals.
Guide the development of whole-product solutions by identifying core problems and translating strategic value objectives into clear Minimum Viable Product (MVP) requirements.
Interpret and clarify complex or ambiguous backlog items for the squad, acting as a facilitator to remove roadblocks and keep delivery on track.
Validate and agree on story completion with the team, ensuring deliverables meet all acceptance criteria, contain appropriate testing, and fully comply with the Definition of Done (DoD).
Who you are
We are looking for a collaborative, technically credible leader who brings a balance of architectural depth and product ownership mindset. To be successful in this role, you possess:
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of experience in integration architecture, combined with a strong, proven track record in Product Ownership roles
Education & Certifications: A university degree or equivalent formal education in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, ideally complemented by MuleSoft or Product Owner certifications.
MuleSoft Expertise: Advanced, hands-on knowledge of the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (including Exchange, Runtime Manager, and API Manager) and a proven ability to design and enforce API-Led Connectivity across Experience, Process, and System API layers.
Data Modeling Skills: Proficiency in creating Conceptual & Logical Data Models, Taxonomies, Ontologies, and clear integration pathways for digital products.
Technical Credibility & Leadership: The technical capability to confidently review code, evaluate delivery quality from Managed Service partners, and mentor external or hybrid developer squads.
Trend & Vendor Assessment: Strong capability to drive external technology trends, assess technical feasibility for multiple solutions, and conduct rigorous vendor assessments.
Mindset & Collaboration: An adaptable and curious mindset with a willingness to dive deep into the People & Culture domain, paired with an exceptional team spirit and the ability to explain complex logic to non-technical stakeholders.
