About this opportunity:

At Ericsson, we invite you to join us in the role of Developer. This integral position offers the chance to engage directly in the development and maintenance of our robust portfolio of products and services. As a Developer, you will immerse yourself in all aspects of development activities, traversing requirement analysis, system design, software design, integration, verification, tools design, product documentation, and more. Working in alignment with Ericsson's Product Development Principles, you will contribute to our thriving culture of innovation and constant improvement. To ensure clarity, we provide detailed position descriptions for each opportunity at stage 8 and 9, outlining specific responsibilities and domains. What you will do:

  • Take end-to-end responsibility for enclosure and structural design, including verification activities, for assigned products or modules.
  • Build and run mechanical and, when relevant, thermal simulations for defined operating and environmental conditions, using appropriate tools and models.
  • Proactively provide design recommendations and constraints to hardware, thermal and mechanical design teams from an enclosure perspective (e.g., materials, wall thickness, stiffeners, mounting, sealing, airflow paths).
  • Analyze test and simulation results, identify mechanical and thermal risks or bottlenecks, and drive corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Optimize enclosure design under strict volume, mechanical, and industrial design constraints, benchmarking performance against industry-standard solutions where relevant.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in product development to secure robust design, verification, and industrialization.
  • Demonstrate proactive, accountable, result-oriented behavior and use a curious, logical, and analytical mindset to solve complex enclosure and mechanical design problems.

The skills you bring:

  • Master’s degree in a technical discipline such as mechanical engineering, thermal engineering, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge, with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience in enclosure and mechanical design of electronic devices involving metal structures or enclosures (e.g., sheets, castings, extrusions).
  • Solid understanding of general mechanical production processes (machining, casting, stamping, extrusion) and how they impact design options and constraints.
  • Strong skills with 3D CAD tools such as Pro/E (Creo), and experience with simulation tools (e.g., Flotherm for thermal aspects, Ansys or similar FEA tools).
  • Ability to interpret and use simulation and test results to guide design decisions and improvements.
  • Good English reading and writing skills, with reasonably good spoken English for daily technical communication.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work responsibly and professionally in a cross-functional team.
