RESPONSIBILITIES:
Order and maintain equipment and tool inventory
Install/blow locate string line in underground conduit systems
Use of motorized equipment to pull fiber cable/MSTs through underground conduit systems
Manual excavation with shovels may be required
Restore disturbed soil/ grass/landscaping
Create documents relating to OSP splicing, testing, or cable installation
Coordinate and collaborate with various department to ensure service delivery
Prepare all field reports relating to work accomplished accurately and timely
Operate and maintain company owned vehicles, complete driver logs and vehicle documents
Operate hydraulic aerial lifts (buckets) and climb ladders
Supervise team and oversee day to day activities
Coordinate scheduled maintenance activity
Splice all fiber counts to 864F in all enclosures
Splice CO and PON cabinets
Complete design verification in field
Have familiarity of splice documentation and able to edit
Have familiarity of SmartSheets
Set up of aerial and underground splice points to include taping, directional marking, grounding, cable management tray installation, hanging cases and securing in vault
Have knowledge and familiarity of aerial and underground cable and MST installation
Perform field and cabinet testing
Perform complex troubleshooting with test equipment: power meter, VFL, traffic identifier
Perform aerial maintenance, pole transfers, anchor installation/removal and plant expansion
Perform QA/QC of network facilities
Install cabinet splitters and perform CO cabling
Provide detailed splicing/cable installation training
Coordinate and oversee vehicle, trailer, and equipment maintenance as needed
Maintain clean driving record
Locate fiber – complete Fiber Locating Course (market dependent)
Work overtime as needed; may be required to work long hours during emergency situations including after-hours restorations
Perform other duties as assigned
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent EXPERIENCE: 1 year telecommunication experience preferred SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES: Service Excellence Oral communications Written communications Work with SmartSheets and Excel spreadsheets Manage multiple priorities Decision making Critical thinking High energy Engaging demeanor REQUIREMENTS: Raise objects up to 50 lbs Remain upright on feet for extended periods Remain stationary for extended periods Ability to communicate information Ability to crouch and crawl Move on foot up to 10 miles per day Ability to bend, kneel, and stand Ability to crawl in tight spaces Ability to ascend/descend a ladder Ability to carry tools and equipment Ability to operate a computer Ability to observe details at far range Ability to operate hand tools and equipment Ability to operate machinery Ability to work in outdoor weather Identify different colors DOT Physical/Certification Possess a valid driver's license Travel up to 50%People are our passion.
