Job Description

As a Tactical Armed Security Professional in Reston, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Security Officer in a dynamic tech and telecommunications location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help discourage incidents, and support access-focused, security-related operations. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, offices, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and sensitive areas, verify credentials when required, and report security-related concerns involving equipment, property, and/or restricted spaces.

Minimum Requirements:

• An armed guard card and/or license is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
