Summary
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Safely and efficiently operates stand-up and sit-down forklift; performs required daily inspections.
- Check availability of materials as listed on the production schedule and notify the Supervisor of any shortages.
- Verify production ticket to the pallet and pull finished goods from the packaging line promptly. Transports pallets to shrink wrap area.
- Transports needed packaging materials to the production area.
- Supplies machine operators with necessary supplies in an efficient and timely manner.
- Complies with company safety policies and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures.
- Accurately completes required paperwork per company standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
WHAT WE NEED
- HS Diploma or GED.
- 1 + years recent experience operating Sit Down and Stand-Up reach forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Must be able to meet daily production requirements.
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Read and comprehend required paperwork.
- Writing skills sufficient to complete required paperwork.
- Ability to perform basic math skills
- Must display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel.
- Ability to work well with all levels of employees whether individually or in a team environment.
- Effectively communicate questions, problems and reports to co-workers, supervisory and management personnel.
- Flexibility to accommodate unscheduled changes in duties and work overtime as needed.
- 1+ years operating Sit Down and Stand Up reach forklifts picking and pulling orders, loading and unloading trucks in a fast paced warehouse environment.
WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
- Frequently (more than 75% of time) required to: stand and/or walk, use ladders and climb stairs, bend and stoop, reach, push/pull, kneel and crouch. Lift, carry and/or move items up to 100 pounds, without assistance; use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls, to verbally communicate; and to hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Frequently exposed to a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Frequently (more than 75% of time) exposed to dust and loud noise.
- Frequently (more than 75% of time) exposed to machinery and mechanical, moving parts.
- Personal protective equipment, such as hearing protection, safety glasses, hair net, and food safety-related items, is required.
