Description
Our client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking a Stock Loan Operations Associate to support the firm’s equity finance and securities lending business. This role sits at the center of front-to-back activity—supporting traders, counterparties, and custodians to ensure smooth settlement, accurate booking, and optimized collateral management.
This is an ideal seat for someone who knows the mechanics of stock borrow/loan, recalls, and collateral optimization, and wants visibility into trading desks, liquidity management, and capital markets operations.
What You’ll Do
-
Manage the daily lifecycle of stock loan and borrow transactions, including trade booking, recalls, returns, substitutions, and collateral movements.
-
Perform trade verification and reconciliation across internal systems, clearing agents, and custodians.
-
Work closely with front office traders and financing desks to resolve breaks, fails, and position discrepancies.
-
Monitor collateral requirements, ensuring accurate margin calls and timely settlements.
-
Reconcile cash and non-cash collateral (e.g., equities, treasuries) and ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements.
-
Liaise with prime brokers, counterparties, and custodians to ensure accuracy of positions and corporate action processing.
-
Support automation and efficiency initiatives by enhancing workflows, exception reporting, and STP rates.
-
Coordinate with risk, compliance, finance, and technology to maintain data integrity and operational resilience.
What You Bring
-
2–5 years of experience in stock loan or equity finance operations within an investment bank, prime broker, or hedge fund.
-
Deep understanding of securities lending, repo, or equity financing workflows and trade lifecycles.
-
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with platforms like EquiLend, Pirum, or Broadridge.
-
Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve breaks under tight deadlines.
-
Excellent communication and relationship management skills—able to collaborate with front office, clients, and infrastructure teams.
-
Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to maintaining control and accuracy in a high-volume environment.
Why It’s Worth a Conversation
-
Exposure to front office trading desks and a clear path toward leadership or front-to-back product roles.
-
Opportunity to join a growing, global equity finance platform with deep resources and a reputation for innovation.
-
Competitive compensation, performance bonus, and the chance to contribute to operational modernization initiatives.
