Purpose
The Earned Media & Public Relations Assistant will support EEV's communications and outreach efforts by helping develop and execute earned media strategies that increase visibility and engagement. This position is ideal for a student interested in public relations, journalism, marketing, or communications.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing and implementing earned media strategies to promote EEV programs, initiatives, and events
Research media outlets, journalists, producers, and influencers to identify outreach opportunities
Draft press releases, media advisories, pitches, and other public relations materials
Coordinate and schedule radio, television, podcast, and media interview appearances for EEV leadership and subject matter experts
Maintain media contact databases and track media coverage
Monitor news and industry trends to identify timely media opportunities
Support event publicity, media relations, and related communications projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
Current student pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Familiarity with media relations, social media, or content creation
Salary Range
$15.00 per hour
Working Conditions
Work to be performed in typical office environment
15-19 hours per week
