Senior Strategy Consultant, AI & Data Transformation

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Strategy Consultant, AI & Data Transformation to join the Data & Analytics Strategy Office within the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO).

This role sits at the heart of ING's Data & Analytics transformation and plays a key role in shaping and driving the bank's AI and Data & Analytics agenda. Working closely with senior leaders across the organization, you will help translate emerging opportunities in AI, analytics, and data into strategic priorities, transformation initiatives, and tangible business outcomes.

As a trusted advisor, you will support strategic decision-making through insight generation, problem solving, and the development of recommendations on some of ING's most important Data & Analytics topics.

The team

You will be part of the Data & Analytics Strategy Office within the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO). The team plays a central role in defining and accelerating ING’s Data & Analytics agenda and works closely with senior leaders across the bank.

You will regularly engage with stakeholders across business, technology, risk, and operations, including the Management Board Banking (MBB), local Executive Committees (ExCos), and the Data & Analytics Leadership Team. Together, the team shapes strategic priorities, drives transformational initiatives, and contributes to ING’s ambition of becoming a leading AI-enabled and data-driven bank.

Roles and responsibilities

In this role you will support ING’s Data & Analytics transformation by driving strategic initiatives and advising senior stakeholders across the bank.

• Support the development and execution of ING’s AI and Data & Analytics strategy.
• Lead strategic analyses and develop recommendations on AI adoption, operating models, governance, value realization, and organizational transformation.
• Advise senior stakeholders, including MBB, local ExCos, and the Data & Analytics Leadership Team, on strategic Data & Analytics and AI-related topics.
• Translate complex business, technology, and regulatory developments into clear insights and actionable recommendations.
• Drive strategic initiatives that advance ING’s AI and Data & Analytics ambitions across business lines, functions, and geographies.
• Facilitate alignment across stakeholders and support the successful execution of enterprise-wide transformation initiatives.
• Organize and facilitate strategy sessions, workshops, and leadership discussions to support decision-making and execution.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across business, technology, risk, and operations.
• Act as a bridge between business leaders, analytics teams, and technology experts to accelerate strategic outcomes.
• Monitor external trends, emerging technologies, and market developments and translate them into opportunities and implications for ING.
• Support strategic partnerships and external engagements that strengthen ING’s position as a data-driven and AI-enabled bank.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Econometrics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in strategy consulting, management consulting, corporate strategy, transformation, analytics, AI, or related disciplines.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders in complex organizational environments.
• Experience in financial services, technology, data, analytics, or AI.
• Strong strategic thinking and structured problem-solving capabilities to address complex Data & Analytics challenges.
• The ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable insights that support executive decision-making.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills to drive alignment across diverse groups.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior audiences effectively.
• The ability to translate technical concepts into business value and strategic implications.
• A proactive, intellectually curious, collaborative, and outcome-oriented mindset with a passion for AI and Data & Analytics.
