Our client is a rapidly growing healthcare technology company rebuilding the infrastructure behind how healthcare providers get paid.

The company operates an RCM automation platform designed to eliminate manual claims and billing work between healthcare providers and insurers. The platform automates complex workflows across the revenue cycle, helping healthcare organizations reduce operational overhead and improve the efficiency of how they get reimbursed.

The company is a Series C organization backed by leading venture investors and has raised approximately $99.8M. Since its founding, the company has experienced significant growth in both revenue and headcount and continues to expand its engineering organization.

This is an opportunity to join a high-velocity engineering team where Senior Software Engineers own large areas of the product and infrastructure. Engineers are expected to design, build, ship, and scale complex systems end-to-end rather than operating within narrowly defined technical silos.

The engineering environment emphasizes strong computer science fundamentals, modern software engineering practices, technical ownership, and continuous growth. Engineers work closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional partners to turn complex customer requirements into reliable production systems.

What You Will Do

Full-Stack & Backend Engineering

• Design, build, and maintain complex services and platform features across the full stack.
• Write production-quality software using Python, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, and modern cloud infrastructure.
• Develop scalable backend services that support mission-critical healthcare workflows.
• Work across application, API, database, and infrastructure layers as needed.
• Apply strong computer science fundamentals to solve complex engineering problems.
• Build systems that are reliable, maintainable, and capable of supporting rapid business growth.

End-to-End Technical Ownership

• Own features and technical initiatives from architecture and design through deployment and production reliability.
• Make thoughtful technical decisions around system architecture, scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Drive projects independently and take responsibility for technical outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing systems and engineering processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure systems remain reliable as usage scales.
• Work across product and infrastructure surfaces rather than being limited to a single technical area.

Scalability & Infrastructure

• Identify and lead scalability improvements as the platform grows rapidly.
• Design systems capable of supporting increasing transaction volumes and enterprise customers.
• Improve infrastructure, deployment processes, and system reliability.
• Work with cloud infrastructure and modern developer tooling including GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform.
• Contribute to architectural decisions around distributed and scalable systems.
• Help evolve engineering infrastructure as the organization and product continue to grow.

Engineering Culture & Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and cross-functional partners to translate customer needs into technical solutions.
• Participate in technical design discussions and architecture reviews.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to the development of engineering best practices.
• Participate in technical interviews and help maintain a high engineering hiring bar.
• Contribute to engineering culture and continuously improve how the team builds and ships software.
• Communicate technical decisions and tradeoffs clearly across engineering and non-engineering teams.

Ideal Candidate Background

Experience Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 6+ years considered for particularly strong candidates.
• Strong full-stack and/or backend software engineering experience.
• Experience working at a VC-backed startup, high-growth company, or technically rigorous organization.
• Demonstrated upward career trajectory through increasing scope, responsibility, and promotions.
• Experience owning complex technical projects from architecture through production.
• Experience building and scaling production software systems.
• Strong computer science fundamentals.
• Experience working in fast-paced engineering environments.
• Candidates should demonstrate meaningful tenure and progression rather than frequent job changes.
• Experience with modern software engineering practices and production systems.

Technical Requirements

• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language, particularly Python or TypeScript; Go is also relevant.
