The Employee Health Clinical Manager is a professional nurse who functions under the direction of the Director, Employee Health, and is responsible for providing leadership and assistance in the daily clinical practices in each Employee Health clinic across the Wellstar system. This leader integrates patient experience, operational effectiveness, cultural integration, and system outcomes within the practice(s). The Clinical Manager will work collaboratively with the Employee Health Operations Manager to plan for service delivery offerings while remaining solely responsible for the direct supervision, and coordination of all clinical related day-to-day operations of each Employee Health Clinic. The Clinical Manager is also responsible for maintaining compliance with all regulatory agencies associated with WellStar Health System. The manager also has shared responsibility for supporting and adhering to standards of practices, system and department policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory agency guidelines. The Clinical Manager supports orientation and training of the Employee Health clinical staff while creating and maintaining an environment that enables the Employee Health department to fulfill its mission and goals. The Employee Health Clinical Manager participates in performance improvement initiatives. The Clinical Manager selects and hires employees according to WellStar's established guidelines; while monitoring, coaching, developing and evaluating performance of clinical staff on an ongoing basis in accordance with WellStar's performance standards. The position will maintain clinical quality, financial viability, staff engagement and engage in customer focused care.Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Wellness Program Management and Strategy * Responsible for developing new, innovative customized wellness programs to support Wellstar team members and align with system strategic goals * Create programming based on wellbeing pillar approach to include emotional, social, financial, physical, and work-life * Provide direction to wellness team for optimal engagement of workforce * Oversee leader development programs in relation to workplace wellness and sustainable culture change * Develop programming built on trust themes to enhance leader capabilities and strengths * Consult with various departments on integrating wellness into the workplace * Work in collaboration with nursing leadership and nursing team members to design programming that will positively impact the work environment * Works with leadership at all Wellstar locations to lead and implement any site-based wellness programs created to support team members or designations desired by sites (Pathways, Sterling/Baldridge, Magnet, etc. * Drives healthy culture change through collaboration with various departments and service lines to educate employees on resources within Wellstar Health System * Analyzes metrics and creates monthly dashboards on an ongoing basis to show visual progress of programs * Promotes program certifications for wellness team to consistently stay relevant and updated on information and education on wellbeing pillars that enhance team member wellness Supports performance improvement initiatives designed to enhance quality of care and improve work efficiencies * Uses the Performance improvement criteria in recommending changes in practice, policies and procedures for Employee Health * Presents ideas for improvement in customer satisfaction * Partners with department customers to ensure needs are met in the onboarding process as well as other facets of services provided by Employee Health (i.e. Fit testing, vaccinations, etc.) Marketing/Outreach * Create and implement marketing strategies to promote and bring awareness to wellness initiatives * Continue to develop and support new avenues for building wellness programs and Wellstar referral sources for employees * Ensure alignment to overall wellness strategy with site-specific monthly Wellness Newsletters that enhance awareness of ongoing site/system wellness benefits and initiatives * Partner with various Wellstar sites and departments to participate in speaking engagements and marketing events * Work proactively with internal marketing and communications teams to ensure wellness information is distributed on a regular cadence * Continually ensure marketing channels like Yammer and FirstUp support well-being throughout the organization * Manage program intake process and new program proposal documentation Serves as a professional role model within nursing * Serves as mentor in the clinical development of peers and staff * Supports professional nursing organizations and participates in educational opportunities * Ensures understanding and compliance with policy and procedures * Receive and complete employee referrals as necessary * Schedules, cancels, and reschedules appointments within the departments scheduling application. * Leads clinical activities of the department Creates and maintains supportive work environment * Promotes quality of care and evidence-based practice * Prioritizes tasks to maintain an effective use of time * Promotes an environment of information sharing and ethical accountability Department Operations and Insights * Responsible for the recruiting, training, development, and supervision of Wellness Consultants, Wellness Operations Supervisor, and Wellbeing Coach Consultants * Oversight of system-wide wellness room operations including alignment of monthly programming theme, snacks, supplies, and all requirements including Spatial, Matrix, and Crestron panels * Submits all HR documentation forms, payroll records and TADS accurately and in accordance with policies * Monitoring progress against operating budget * Plans and maintains employee wellness operating budget * Oversight of Graduate Student Interns Organizational Impact * Key contributor and member of system-wide wellbeing cabinet * Manage Sharecare platform and responsible for strategic marketing to boost utilization and engagement of platform * Key contributor and member of CARES leadership team * Oversee strategic implementation and success of Employee Wellness Committees across the system Supports fiscal accountability * Careful use of clinical resources in an effort to effectively maintain budgetary responsibilities. * Ensures staff are knowledgeable of updates or changes in EH policies and Standards of practice. * Responsible for communicating supply and equipment needs to the Operations Manager. Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.Required Minimum Education:
- Bachelors Exercise Science or Bachelors Public Health or Bachelors Other / Related Field
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.- RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
- BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
Additional License(s) and Certification(s):
Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN-S) PreferredRequired Minimum Experience:
Minimum 5 years 5 years of related industry experience, including 5 years of program management experience preferably in a corporate wellness plan, health improvement or related environment Required or an equivalent combination of education and experience Required and Minimum 3 years minimum 3 years managing a large, diverse team RequiredRequired Minimum Skills:
Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
