This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California.

Homewood is seeking a Club Bartender – Lake Club to join the Food & Beverage Department.

Job Summary:

The Bartender at Lake Club will be responsible for crafting and serving exceptional beverages to members and guests, ensuring every visit to the bar is welcoming, efficient, and memorable. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a passion for mixology and hospitality, and enjoys working in a vibrant, scenic setting.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Warmly greet guests at the bar, engage in friendly conversation, and set a positive, welcoming tone for their experience.
• Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently according to club recipes, portioning, and presentation standards.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the cocktail menu, spirits, wine list, beer selection, and food menu in order to answer questions and make informed recommendations to guests.
• Promptly fulfill beverage orders for servers and the dining room, ensuring drinks are prepared in the proper sequence and delivered to proper presentation standards.
• Suggest signature cocktails, featured wines, appetizers, and desserts to enhance the guest experience and support outlet sales goals.
• Accurately process orders and payments through the POS system, including cash handling, running tabs, and closing out checks.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout service, including glassware, garnishes, ice, mixers, and bar tools.
• Address guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, escalating to a supervisor or manager when necessary.
• Verify guest IDs, monitor guest alcohol consumption, and adhere to all responsible alcohol service laws and regulations.
• Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, hosts, and fellow bartenders to ensure smooth, coordinated service.
• Assist with bar opening and closing duties, including prepping garnishes and syrups, restocking, inventory counts, and breakdown and sanitation of the bar area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of previous bartending experience in a full-service environment, preferably at a fast-paced, high-end restaurant, club, or resort required.
• Solid knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer, with the ability to execute drinks quickly and consistently.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and composure.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-moving environment with minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to step into multiple roles as needed.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt quickly based on business levels.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain a strong work ethic.
• Current Food Handler and California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certifications (or ability to obtain prior to start date).
• Must be 21+ years of age.

• Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be able to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays; long hours may be required based on business demand.
• Ability to stay calm, friendly, and focused during high-volume service periods.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, standing and walking for extended periods, and lifting/carrying items up to 50 pounds, such as cases of product and ice.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $25-$30 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
