Summary:
The Client Success Manager, GPO Implementations serves as the primary strategic partner for hospitals and health systems transitioning into a Group Purchasing Organization (GPO). This highly client-facing role combines relationship management, project leadership, and data-driven consulting to ensure successful onboarding, adoption, and value realization.
The ideal candidate excels at building trust with executive, operational, and supply chain stakeholders while simultaneously managing complex implementation projects and analyzing purchasing data to uncover savings opportunities. This individual is comfortable leading discussions in the boardroom, facilitating cross-functional teams, and diving into detailed data to validate savings, optimize contract utilization, and communicate meaningful outcomes to clients.
Acting as the central point of coordination between the client, GPO, distributors, vendors, and internal teams, the Client Success Manager drives implementations from planning through stabilization while ensuring clients realize both operational and financial value from their GPO partnership.
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to move seamlessly between executive client conversations and detailed data analysis, using insights to drive measurable financial and operational outcomes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Client Relationship Management
Serve as the primary trusted advisor and point of contact for clients throughout implementation and onboarding.
Build strong relationships with executive, operational, supply chain, pharmacy, finance, and clinical stakeholders.
Lead client meetings, executive reviews, and regular project status updates.
Establish credibility through proactive communication, responsiveness, and consultative problem-solving.
Guide clients through organizational change and adoption of new GPO processes, contracts, and reporting tools.
Project Management & Implementation
Lead end-to-end implementation of GPO services for new and transitioning healthcare organizations.
Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and risk mitigation strategies.
Coordinate cross-functional teams including Supply Chain, Pharmacy, Finance, IT, Vendors, and Distributors.
Drive accountability among internal and external stakeholders to ensure project goals and deadlines are achieved.
Identify implementation barriers, manage issue resolution, and escalate risks as appropriate.
Facilitate successful transition of clients to ongoing account management teams following implementation.
Data Analysis & Value Realization
Analyze purchasing, utilization, and contract data to identify savings opportunities and optimization strategies.
Validate savings projections through benchmarking, market analysis, and financial modeling.
Review item master, formulary, and spend data to support contract alignment and conversion efforts.
Monitor contract utilization, compliance, and realized savings against implementation objectives.
Translate complex data into actionable insights and executive-level recommendations.
Develop and present reports that clearly communicate financial impact, savings achievements, and performance trends.
Support contract tier optimization and strategic sourcing initiatives through quantitative analysis.

Work Experience, Education, and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
2+ years of experience in healthcare supply chain, GPO, or implementation/project management.
Strong knowledge of hospital purchasing, contracting, and supply chain operations.
Excellent communication, relationship-building, and change management skills.
Financial analysis experience a plus.
