We are looking for a HR Consultant for our Mumbai location, to join our company.

We are looking for a GBS HR Consultant to support HR Managers in delivering day-to-day HR operations, overseeing HR and administration-related matters, and providing timely guidance to employees, managers and other stakeholders.

This is an opportunity for an HR professional who combines operational ownership with strong stakeholder engagement, sound knowledge of local HR practices, high ethical standards and a commitment to safe, compliant and continuously improving HR service delivery.

About Global Business Services:

In Global Business Services (GBS), you will support the effective delivery of local HR services in line with customer expectations, service commitments and local legal requirements. Working closely with employees, managers and HR stakeholders, you will help implement global people processes and organisational development initiatives, advise the business on relevant HR matters and contribute to continuous improvement of local HR service delivery.

Required experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree, preferably in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • Preferably minimum 4 years of relevant HR experience.
  • Good understanding of HR processes and tools, with knowledge of local labour laws and regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate with employees and managers at all levels.
  • This position may require working from multiple Wilhelmsen locations across Mumbai to effectively support internal stakeholders.
  • Comfortable using digital technology and solutions that support HR and people processes.
  • Good spoken and written English communication skills.
  • Independent, proactive, structured, accurate and service-minded, with the ability to take ownership, manage priorities and deliver services.
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards, integrity and confidentiality.

What you will be doing:

  • Support HR Manager in delivering effective local HR services in line with customer SLAs, KPIs, expectations, local laws and practices.
  • Oversee the correct and timely completion of HR and admin related matters, including HR data, personnel files, payroll inputs, benefits, pension, insurance, leave and local employee documentation.
  • Support and coordinate for Group Insurance policies, PoSH implementation, including training, oversee business travel related responsibilities.
  • Advise employees, managers and other business stakeholders on relevant aspects of the HR and people agenda.
  • Support organisational development initiatives, including restructuring and merger and acquisition, office space projects, where applicable.
  • Participate in discussions with managers on the local recruitment agenda and support recruitment processes.
  • Provide guidance on questions related to local compensation decisions.
  • Analyse and interpret key HR metrics for HR teams and business stakeholders.
  • Support the local delivery of learning and development initiatives and promote the Wilhelmsen learning philosophy.
  • Support, coach and follow up on annual people processes, including performance, engagement and succession planning.
  • Promote the correct use of global and local HR systems and support business users.
  • Participate in local and global initiatives to improve HR policies, processes, tools and service delivery.
  • Follow up on compliance with relevant policies, processes and laws relating to occupational health and workplace safety, and support stakeholders in maintaining safe working practices.
  • Support internal and external statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Act as an ambassador for GBS and support the local implementation of GBS initiatives.
