A Brief Overview
Plans, implements, directs and controls cardiovascular services activities and operations such as Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, Structural Heart and other selected departments for the assigned facility(s), in accordance with professional and MLH standards of practice. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.
What you will do
- Plans, organizes, implements, and controls cardiovascular services activities and operations at assigned facility(s); monitors operations to ensure standards and objectives are being met; develops and implements limited or short-term plans to keep operations moving smoothly.
- Formulates long-range business plans for cardiovascular service operations; sets goals and develops strategies for meeting those goals; anticipates possible problems and prepares contingent strategies.
- Directs the activities of Associates and students; monitors Associates performance and clarifies work expectations, and assists with goal setting; promotes cooperation among individuals and groups. Develops and implements processes through orientation, training and education to ensure that the competence of all staff members is assessed, maintained, improved and demonstrated throughout their employment.
- Develops and administers capital and expense budgets for operational areas, authorizes expenditures, and monitors budget and other financial indicators. Assists in the development and implementation of plans to control costs and improve department operations.
- Develops and maintains performance standards to include quality assessment/improvement programs. Develops and recommends procedures to standardize operations, improve operational efficiency, and provide quality services.
- Investigates trends and developments in cardiovascular practice; introduces new procedures.
- Establishes policies/practices for the department in accordance with current regulatory and professional practice guidelines. Interprets, executes, and recommends policy modifications.
- Provides leadership for educational programs for students and staff in collaboration with the administrative team.
- Advances the profession through participation in professional organizations, and completes the required continuous training and education to include department specific requirements.
- Ensures good working relationships between departments; serves as a resource and liaison for advanced problem solving related to cardiovascular services. Responsible for monitoring of patient and employee satisfaction. Conducts root cause analyses to determine and correct underlying issues.
- Oversees supply management of each department. Introduces new products through the system process and submits or maintains contracts in the contract management system.

- Required - Bachelor's Degree Business Administration/Management

- Required - Progressive management in cardiovascular services 5-7 years

Supervision Provided by this Position
- Provides direct and/or indirect supervision for Associates assigned to the cardiovascular services department(s). Cardiovascular Services includes Cath Lab, Electrophysiology, Structural Heart and other selected departments to meet individual facility needs.
Physical Demands
- The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Must have good balance and coordination.
- The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
- The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
- Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
- Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
- Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
