The Automation Solutions business area delivers mission-critical automation for global process industries and the marine sector. Its portfolio spans measurements, analyzers, and integrated control systems with digital optimization and lifecycle services, improving efficiency, quality, safety, and sustainability.
We are now looking for a Design Engineer to our Machine Vision R&D team in Jyväskylä. In this role, you will participate in R&D projects, manage embedded equipment lifecycle tasks, and contribute to software development. You will work in an international development environment and bring strong technical expertise to the team.
Your responsibilities
- Participate in research and development projects and collaborate with the R&D team
- Select server and system components and manage software updates and installation packages
- Contribute to software maintenance and development using modern technologies
- Prepare technical documentation, calculations, and specifications for prototype manufacturing
- Analyze test results and review findings together with the R&D team while following technological developments
- Follow technological developments and contribute to patenting and competitor monitoring
Expectations for you
Core technical competencies
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Automation, Electronics, Software Engineering)
- Strong proficiency in C#
- Experience with Entity Framework Core
- Solid understanding of SQL databases, including design, optimization, and query development
- Good Finnish and English skills
Additional skills and knowledge (seen as an advantage)
- Knowledge of paper technology or experience with paper manufacturing processes
- Understanding of virtualized server environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V, container technologies)
- Knowledge of PC and server hardware, including components, performance, and lifecycle management
- Understanding of embedded systems and hardware lifecycle management
- Experience working in an R&D environment
Previous experience in similar roles is beneficial, but strong education and technical skills are more important.
