Description
The Medical Supply Logistics Technician provides medical logistics, warehouse management, and War Reserve Material (WRM) support. The position is responsible for managing and maintaining medical supplies and equipment, executing inventory control, receiving, storage, shipping, and distribution activities, supporting procurement and accountability processes through the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system, and ensuring compliance with Air Force, Department of Defense, and OSHA safety requirements. The technician operates material handling equipment, supports WRM sustainment and readiness activities, maintains accurate records, assists with property accountability and financial tracking, and provides responsive customer support while ensuring operational readiness of medical logistics assets. Work is performed primarily on-site at Wright-Patterson AFB in a warehouse and logistics environment and may require operation of government vehicles and forklifts.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 12 months of experience maintaining War Reserve Material (WRM) in a Department of Defense supply or warehouse environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of USAF supply systems, logistics programs, policies, procedures, and inventory management practices.
- Extensive experience using the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS) system.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to obtain authorization to operate government vehicles.
- Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and Air Force Occupational Safety and Health (AFOSH) standards.
- Ability to perform receiving, storage, inventory management, shipping, distribution, and property accountability functions in a warehouse environment.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to meet Tier 1 (T1/SF85) background investigation requirements for government facility and network access.
- Strong organizational, recordkeeping, and customer service skills with the ability to work independently and maintain accountability of government assets.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 12 months of experience in a medical supply warehouse or medical logistics environment.
- Experience supporting military medical organizations or medical readiness programs.
- Experience managing medical equipment, supplies, or healthcare logistics inventories.
- Familiarity with Air Force medical logistics operations and WRM readiness requirements.
- Experience ordering, purchasing, receiving, and tracking supplies through DMLSS.
- Experience operating forklifts and other warehouse material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of government property management and inventory reconciliation processes.
- Experience working in regulated environments requiring strict compliance with safety, security, and accountability standards.
- Familiarity with Air Force instructions and DoD logistics policies related to supply and warehouse operations.
- Demonstrated ability to support mission readiness through accurate inventory control, logistics planning, and warehouse management.
