Description

Want to lead one of the Nordics’ most iconic destinations?

We’re looking for a Deputy General Manager to join the Centre Management team at Westfield Mall of Scandinavia, on a 12 month Fixed term contract, maternity cover.

This is a high-impact leadership opportunity to help shape the next phase of growth for one of the Nordic region’s leading retai12-month fixed-terml and lifestyle destinations. You’ll work closely with the General Manager and teams across the business to strengthen commercial performance, elevate customer experience and ensure operational excellence. You’ll be close to the action, building relationships with retailers, partners and the local community, while leading projects and priorities that make a visible difference across the destination.

If you combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery and enjoy bringing people together around ambitious goals, we’d love to hear from you.

Why this role matters

Westfield Mall of Scandinavia is a flagship destination within the Westfield portfolio, bringing together retail, dining, entertainment and leisure in one of Stockholm’s most dynamic growth areas. As customer expectations continue to evolve, this role will help protect and strengthen the centre’s market-leading position. Working alongside the General Manager, you’ll turn strategy into action across commercial growth, operational performance, customer experience, sustainability and community impact.

What you’ll be getting involved in

No two days will look exactly the same, but you’ll spend your time:

  • Supporting the General Manager in leading the centre, translating its business plan and five-year priorities into clear, high-quality delivery.

  • Leading asset enhancement projects and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen the centre’s competitive position and customer experience.

  • Identifying commercial opportunities, developing business cases and helping create new revenue streams, partnerships, concepts and activation spaces.

  • Working with Finance, Investment Management and Operations Management on budgets, forecasts and effective service-charge management.

  • Shaping the Customer Content Strategy and using customer, operational and commercial data to improve decisions, engagement, footfall and performance.

  • Building trusted relationships with retailers, internal teams, commercial partners, community leaders, institutions and local government representatives.

  • Co-leading BP2030 priorities, including energy and carbon targets, Better Places Certification, mobility, welcome and community resilience initiatives.

  • Supporting and developing Centre Management teams, creating a positive, accountable and high-performing culture.

  • Maintaining strong operational, health and safety, crisis-management and compliance standards, including acting as Deputy Crisis Director when required.

What we’re looking for

We’re not looking for someone who ticks every single box. What matters most is that you bring the right experience, judgement and energy to make a real contribution.

You’ll enjoy this role if you:

  • Have strong operational management and project leadership experience in a fast-paced, customer-led environment, ideally within retail, property, asset management or hospitality.

  • Can connect the commercial, operational, customer and stakeholder sides of a complex asset and turn strategy into practical delivery.

  • Bring solid financial capability across budgeting, forecasting, business planning and business-case development.

  • Build trust quickly, influence confidently and bring different stakeholders together around shared objectives.

  • Use data, insight and commercial judgement to spot opportunities and make sound recommendations.

  • Enjoy leading teams, setting clear expectations and supporting others to perform at their best.

  • Bring a strong understanding of health and safety, compliance and contract management.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally in English and are confident using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

It would be great if you also bring:

  • Experience in a shopping centre or mixed-use destination environment.

  • Experience in leasing, sales or marketing.

  • Knowledge of real estate investment principles.

  • Experience contributing to sustainability, net-zero or community impact programmes.
