Position Overview
As a Manager, Logistics Freight Payment at CarMax, you will lead critical financial operations for our nationwide logistics network, overseeing approximately $200M+ in transport spend and revenue reconciliation. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in freight payment processes while managing vendor relationships and a high-performing team. Team Overview
You’ll lead the financial backbone of CarMax Logistics, managing freight spend and revenue reconciliation for a $200M+ operation. This includes guiding a team of analysts, fostering collaboration, and ensuring audit-aligned processes that minimize financial risk while supporting operational continuity.
Role Responsibilities
· Oversee freight payment and reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely execution across all logistics operations.
· Supports Logistics processes and initiatives for CarMax’s Fleet toll and fuel programs, driving efficiency, compliance, and cost control.
· Manage third-party freight payment vendor relationships, including strategic projects, and payment programming.
· Collaborate with internal Accounting and Strategic Sourcing teams to maintain accrual accuracy and influence carrier sourcing decisions.
· Develop and implement performance reporting tools to monitor freight payment KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
· Lead initiatives to optimize payment processes, including AutoPay enrollment and reducing manual invoice handling.
· Resolve escalations promptly while enforcing practices that limit financial exposure and maintain operational continuity.
· Coach and develop team members, creating a culture of accountability, efficiency, and professional growth.
Work Location and Arrangement: This role will be based out of the CarMax Home Office in Richmond, VA and Associates will work onsite 4 days per week.
Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
· 5+ years of business experience with a strong focus on financial operations.
· 1+ year of project management experience, demonstrating organizational and leadership skills.
· Strong communication and results focus skills, with a proven track record of leading teams, influencing stakeholders, driving accountability, and delivering continuous process improvements in a fast-paced environment
· Demonstrated ability to analyze data, solve complex problems, prioritize competing demands, and make sound decisions that driver operational, service and financial results.
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in supply chain or logistics finance highly preferred.
· 1+ year of people management experience, with a track record of team development.
· 2+ years of accounting experience with proven ability to manage audits and compliance.
·Experience in data analytics tools such as Oracle and Snowflake for reporting and process improvement.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to leverage technology to support reporting, analysis, and communication preferred.

The annual salary for this position is:
$73,600.00 - $117,800.00May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Benefits:
Except as otherwise required by state law, CarMax Associates are entitled to the following paid sick, vacation, and holiday time.
Associates that are considered full-time hourly or commission/incentive eligible:
- To earn up to 48 hours of sick time per year accrued on a per pay period basis and between 80 hours and 200 hours per year of vacation time after a 90 day waiting period depending on years of continuous service with the Company.
- For 8 hours of pay for each of a total of 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday. If such an Associate does work on a scheduled holiday due to business need, they are eligible for Holiday Premium Pay.
Associates considered full-time salaried are entitled to paid time away with no specified limit as needed for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, floating holiday, etc. subject to manager approval.
