Senior Machine Learning Engineer

We are seeking a talented Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our AI & Innovation team at Royal Bank of Canada. In this role, you will drive the development and deployment of cutting-edge machine learning and generative AI solutions that enhance our products and services.

What You'll Do

• Design and Deploy AI Solutions: Conduct hands-on application design, coding, and deployment of machine learning models and generative AI use cases
• Advance ML Capabilities: Enhance machine learning use case development, model training, and feature engineering pipelines
• Build GenAI Solutions: Develop hands-on solutions using generative AI technologies, building both new use cases and enhancing existing ones
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with our Data Analytics team to leverage machine learning expertise and translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical influence by sharing knowledge, mentoring team members, and establishing best practices
• Maintain Excellence: Ensure code quality, best practices, and scalability across all deliverables
• Stay Current: Research emerging trends and industry best practices, evaluating implications for our business strategy

What You Need to Succeed – Must-Have's

• Strong proficiency in programming and scripting languages (Java, Python, Shell Script, etc.)
• Hands-on experience developing and managing ML model pipelines, feature engineering, model training, and inferencing
• Proven experience with LLM models (Cohere, Haiku, and other cognitive services) in production environments
• Deep expertise in deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to understand product usage and generate innovative ideas
• Experience with application monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Prognosis)
• Solid knowledge of DevOps tools and practices (GitHub, Jenkins, Urban Code, Nexus, Ansible)
• Public and Private cloud expertise (Azure, AWS, GCP, OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes)

Nice to have:

• Experience with ELK technology stack and graph databases (Neo4j, Neptune)
• Some experience with modern UI technologies ( React, Angular)
