St John of God Bunbury Hospital has been providing high-quality, compassionate health care to the people of Bunbury and the surrounding communities since 1927. 

With 145 beds and more than 330 highly qualified medical practitioners, our hospital caters for a variety of medical and surgical admissions and palliative care, plus allied health and community-based services. 

We offer a wide range of services, caring for inpatients, outpatients and day patients across a range of specialties including medical, surgical, rehabilitation and allied health. 

Your role at St John of God Bunbury Hospital

We are currently seeking Enrolled and Registered Nurses to join our 30-bed Medical. St John of God Bunbury is only two hours’ drive from the Perth CBD located in the beautiful southwest of Western Australia.

Our hospital is large enough to provide a range of specialities and small enough to foster strong connections and team bonding among caregivers, ensuring compassionate, patient centred care.

We have a variety of shifts available to suit your lifestyle

  • Monday to Sunday morning and afternoon shift is 7 hours

  • Monday to Sunday night shift is 10 hours

Key Responsibilities

  • Continue to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care, seeking support from senior staff as required to patients

  • Promote and contribute to effective communication, facilitating teamwork and cooperation within the department and within the hospital.

  • Provide patient education and act as a resource where appropriate.

  • Support and supervise staff and students as required, including orientating and precepting staff.

  • Contribute to the achievement of Hospital and Clinical Services operational objectives.

  • Provides direct total patient care to patients to achieve identified outcomes in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures and Care Paths.

The successful applicant will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as an Enrolled or Registered Nurse and demonstrate strong clinical skills relevant to a medical environment.

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, a proven ability to identify and resolve issues effectively, and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care.

You will be dedicated to achieving positive patient outcomes and ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction, while demonstrating cultural awareness and the ability to work respectfully and effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities.

We can offer you

  • Salary: $75,179 to $106,629 (pro rata for part-time), plus 12% superannuation

  • Permanent full time and part-time positions available
