Description
The Technical & Macro research team is focused on market events and trends that impact institutional investors. The team formulates and communicates market perspectives to clients, the media and internal constituents. The team seeks to provide clear and concise research that allows its clients to reach actionable investment conclusions in a timely manner.
The Role
As an Technical & Macro Research Associate, you will be responsible for helping to develop a market narrative, coming up with actionable ideas and themes, and deliver market insights to investors. You will also be responsible for data retrieval, special data projects, and leveraging technology to help the team develop new processes. You will have experience in both markets and data analysis/retrieval, as well as programming (python, BQL, etc). In addition to supporting the Technical research team, the candidate will have bandwidth to support the firm’s other research teams.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare the materials and research necessary to allow senior analysts deliver cross-asset class investment views into client presentations, publications or product-oriented marketing programs.
Contribute to the daily publication of the firm’s written research.
Support the marketing and servicing of various products and projects for clients and prospects.
Participate in the formulation of views and research across all asset classes – equities, rates, credit, commodities and foreign exchange.
Lead an initiative to modernize the team’s data capabilities through leveraging technology.
Support the Firms’ institutional clientele with bespoke requests.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Capabilities:
A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
Strong client skills as frequent interaction with our clients will be required.
Superb written and verbal communication skills, as well as the proven ability to effectively convey ideas with passion and clarity (simplify the complex with the use of stories, anecdotes and analogies).
Intellectual curiosity and the ability to generate insightful and relevant investment ideas backed by rigorous research.
Expertise with statistical packages and coding experience, Bloomberg, BQL FactSet, Reuters, Python, Microsoft Office, etc.

$125,000 annual salary
