Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive inventory professional to join our team!
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is seeking to bring on board an Inventory Specialist to coordinate and process all incoming items and manage all in-house inventory within the DAR Store to ensure inventory accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and drive improvement to existing processes.
With a legacy of more than 50 years, the DAR Store consistently provides essential member supplies, gifts, and DAR-related souvenirs. The DAR Store is open to the public and supports all methods of shopping, from in-store to online, by phone or mail.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, reconcile, and store incoming merchandise while ensuring that all inventory is accurately entered into our POS system, inventory databases, and tracking spreadsheets.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs with store leadership.
- Prepare purchase orders and assist with receiving vendor shipments, reconciling invoices, and processing vendor returns.
- Maintain accurate records throughout the inventory lifecycle including receiving, storage, transfers, adjustments, and replenishments.
- Maintain product lists on the DAR Store website by updating descriptions, pricing, images, and availability.
- Perform routine inventory audits, cycle counts, and spot checks to identify discrepancies.
- Support inventory planning by identifying low stock, excess inventory, discontinued merchandise, and out-of-stock items.
Qualifications and Needed Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years serving as a team lead or key holder in a retail and/or e-commerce customer-focused environment.
- A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred or a high school diploma with 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Direct experience with POS systems and e-commerce platforms. Working knowledge of MS Office and spreadsheet software will be key.
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to take the initiative to correct issues.
- Experience in a customer order processing and fulfillment environment.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities when needed. Will need to manage multiple operational tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects, with the use of carts and trolleys, and will spend large amounts of time moving as needed to process inventory and walk-in sales.
Perks and Pay:
- Hiring range is between $25.00 - $27.88 per hour, based upon skills and experience.
