Working closely with multiple stakeholders across Sales, Operations, Credit & Collections, Finance and Customer Service teams, the Billing Specialist plays a key role in resolving billing queries, minimising disputes and supporting strong cash collection performance. This is a collaborative role requiring excellent attention to detail, strong knowledge of billing processes and compliance requirements, and the ability to build effective working relationships across the business. Responsibilities:

- Validate billing inputs including contracts, pricing, purchase orders, tax treatment, service evidence and customer billing instructions before invoicing.
- Manage customer billing portals and e-invoicing processes, resolving submission failures, rejections and billing queries within agreed service levels.
- Investigate and resolve billing disputes, working closely with Sales, Operations, Credit Control, Master Data and other stakeholders to prevent recurring issues.
- Maintain accurate billing records, approvals, supporting documentation and audit trails to ensure compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end activities, including billing cut-offs, backlog management, accrual support and revenue/AR substantiation.
- Monitor and manage billing workloads, prioritising high-value and cash-critical items while escalating risks, blockers and compliance concerns as appropriate.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies, supporting system enhancements and sharing best practices across the wider Order-to-Cash team.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in billing, with proven experience managing complex billing cycles and high-volume invoicing activities.
- Strong knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP platform, with the ability to navigate financial systems and process billing transactions accurately.
- Good understanding of contract-to-billing processes, VAT/GST requirements, local tax regulations, statutory invoicing rules, e-billing and invoice portal requirements.
- Advanced attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and deliver excellent customer service.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and formulas), Microsoft Office applications and workplace computer systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Ability to work independently while remaining a collaborative team player, demonstrating accountability, resilience, adaptability and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
