Position Summary
As MDM operations associate within Oaktree's Data Management/Solutions team, you will be acting as SME for consolidating master data across key domains such as Security Master, Legal Entity Master, Issuer Master, Account Master, Credit agreements, deals etc. and This role is pivotal in understanding private credit operations, deal onboarding. You will be tasked with building robust operational processes that support the firm’s data-driven decision-making while ensuring that data operations are fully integrated into our futuristic centralized MDM model for future growth.
Key responsibilities
- As a MDM Operations Senior Associate, you will be joining our Data Operations team in Hyderabad office closely working in US timings with onsite business team i:e LA team to ensure you are in sync with the key stakeholders to expand MDM Operations for the upcoming master data needs.
- This is role will play a critical part to build a “Golden Record” for supporting Oaktree’s private credit business (Borrowers, Facilities and Sponsors) —one of the firm’s largest and most sophisticated investment strategies.
- Hands-on exposure in creation, maintenance, validation and support of instrument master data domains, operational workflows, Matching and Survivorship, Hierarchy construction, enrichment and stewardship to efficiently govern MDM lifecycle across the enterprise.
- High ownership & autonomy: Collaborate with global stakeholders (primarily Los Angeles-based) while independently driving problem identification, solution design, execution, and communication.
- Develop and implement MDM Ops operating model right from people (ownership), processes (workflows) and leverage modern technology (MDM automation) by effectively coordinating with business and technology teams and own delivery end-to-end to support data management life cycle
- Identify and perform MDM ops automation/re-usable capabilities such as Entity resolution, Covenant Breach Alerting (Attribute Management), Administrative Agent changes (Reference data), Private credit Nuance (complex SPV structures)
- Strong exposure in MDM deal onboarding process/operations right from extracting the pricing grid, exception management(Override/Exception master record), Borrowing Base Extraction/Calculation for Asset Based Lending, Closing day operational handshake (Pre closing status),Validation/Reconciliation, prevent accidental edits on core Facility Master data and act as single source of truth for priced, collateralized and reported.
- Develop and implement MDM data workflows (fast ingestion, transformation, analytics, APIs), semantic models, mdm operations dashboards are designed for long-term scalability and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with data engineering/tech teams to define and implement mdm operational processes that align with data pipeline architectures, ensuring robust and scalable data solutions.
- Define and develop a robust data quality rule(s) across mdm data domains and critical data assets that proactively monitors and resolves quality issues, partnering with data owners and data stewards throughout the organization.
- Look for performance optimizing techniques, diagnosing data issues, performing root cause analysis, and working directly with technical teams or business stakeholders to remediate issues and develop corrective actions.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in MDM operational life cycle, data quality and monitoring the mdm jobs/daily loads, alerting, triaging issues and stakeholder management.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of mdm data operations, ensuring that data flows through end-to-end data pipelines efficiently and accurately, with minimal disruption to downstream consumers.
- Collaborate with technology and governance teams to ensure upstream data issues are addressed and that validation processes are updated as necessary to ensure long-term data integrity.
- Develop performance metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of mdm data operations, ensuring alignment with business goals and continuous improvement.
- Monitoring the job schedules on daily basis, sending alerts to downstream teams for any mdm data delays/SLAs, diagnosing issues from job status/logs
- Triaging the mdm data issues by coordinating with business/data solutions teams for permanent fixes and come up with clear-cut Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and sharing across all the users for closing the loop
- Documenting best practices around master data domains/datasets, master data catalog/lineage, release management, mdm data load runbooks, issue resolution and data/system performance health checks
- Familiar with MDM tools such as Semarchy, Azure Profisee MDM or Open source/In house MDM a plus

Education
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
