Description
"We're not hiring because somebody left. We're hiring because somebody progressed."
Legal Assistant, Family department
Head Office, Lancashire
Full‑Time, permanent, 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Salary + bonus scheme + 28 days holiday + benefits to support your health and wellbeing.
The reason we're recruiting is a good one.
One of our Legal Assistants, Evie, has recently been promoted to a Paralegal role within the team. As she takes the next exciting step in her career, we're now looking for someone to step into the role she leaves behind.
The best bit is Evie isn't going anywhere.
She'll be right here to help you settle into the position she knows inside out, while our experienced Paralegal, Mark, supports Evie in her transition into her new role.
It's a great example of how we work at Napthens. We invest in people, create opportunities for progression and support one another every step of the way.
The role
As a Legal Assistant in our Family team, you'll play a vital role in supporting lawyers with a varied and often complex caseload, helping clients through some of the most important and sensitive moments in their lives.
Day to day you'll be involved in things like...
- Liaising with clients, courts and other professionals
- Preparing court bundles and legal documents
- Providing casework support
- Drafting briefs to counsel
- Managing file administration and billing tasks
You are someone who has...
- Some experience as a Legal Assistant or a similar legal support role
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Strong communication, verbal, written, online and telephony
- Examples of working as part of a supportive team
- A genuine interest in family law
- Attention to detail
Why Napthens?
You'll be joining a team that genuinely lives our values: We Understand. We Collaborate. We Excel.
This isn't a team where you're left to figure things out alone. You'll have the support of experienced colleagues, exposure to high quality work and the opportunity to build valuable legal skills in an environment where progression is real.
After all, this vacancy exists because someone was given the chance to take the next step.
Perhaps you'll be next.
*NB* A note to all agencies. Please do not send speculative CVs of any kind with regards to this vacancy.
