A Day in the Life

The Global Commercial Operations (GCO) organization enables commercial excellence across Medtronic by supporting contracting, pricing, offer development, and business processes that drive customer engagement and revenue growth. Within GCO, the Contract Operations function partners with sales, finance, legal, and commercial teams to develop, evaluate, and execute customer agreements while ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.

This role is based onsite at Medtronic Operational Headquarters in Fridley, Minnesota (Minneapolis area). This is an onsite position with a 4-day in-office requirement.

         

         

The Principal Contract Analyst is responsible for analyzing, developing, and supporting customer contract and pricing strategies that enable commercial growth. This role serves as a key partner to sales, finance, contract management, and commercial leadership teams by providing analytical insights, evaluating contract terms, and delivering data-driven recommendations that support business decisions and customer needs.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze contract and pricing data to support commercial strategy and business decision-making.
  • Review and interpret contract language, including rebate and compliance provisions, and recommend revisions in partnership with Contract Management and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Develop financial models and pricing analyses to evaluate business opportunities and forecast performance.
  • Provide analytical insights and recommendations to commercial leadership, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather, validate, and analyze data from multiple systems and sources.
  • Support contract development, offer evaluation, and pricing activities throughout the customer agreement lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with sales personnel and customers to understand business requirements and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while ensuring timely delivery of analyses, recommendations, and contract support activities.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 8+ years of experience OR Associate's Degree and 6+ years of experience OR Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of experience in contract analysis, pricing, offer development, commercial operations, finance, or related business functions.
  • Experience performing financial, pricing, or business analysis using large datasets.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and business data analysis tools to support decision-making.
  • Experience managing multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholder priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience reviewing and interpreting commercial contract language, including pricing, rebate, and compliance provisions.
  • Experience in the medical device, healthcare, life sciences, or highly regulated industry.
  • Experience supporting contracting, pricing, or commercial operations functions.
  • Experience with SQL, Tableau, Salesforce, or similar reporting and analytics platforms.
  • Experience partnering directly with sales organizations and customer-facing stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of customer contracting processes, pricing strategy, and commercial agreement administration.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$107,200.00 - $160,800.00

 

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).
