Overview

The Electrical Professional Engineer III (PE III) serves as a senior technical leader responsible for the design, coordination, and delivery of complex electrical systems for energy and infrastructure projects for hospital and college campuses. This role leads multidisciplinary design efforts, ensuring code-compliant, constructible solutions for power distribution, renewable energy, storage, and controls integration. The PE III manages project execution for assigned scopes, mentors junior engineers, and resolves complex technical and field challenges. Responsibilities include overseeing design quality, supporting permitting and procurement, and ensuring systems meet performance, reliability, and energy efficiency requirements aligned with ENFRA’s design-build delivery model.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for signing and sealing engineering documents and ensuring quality standards.
• Leads and reviews designs solar energy, battery energy storage, fuel cell, and combined heat and power plants with guidance from senior engineers.
• Performs and reviews calculations for utility interconnects, arc flash, and short-circuit and breaker coordination studies.
• Manages electrical scope including schedule, budget, and deliverables.
• Supervises the planning for field investigations and site visits. May review plans for 3D laser scanning effort.
• Resolves highly complex technical and coordination challenges.
• Provides technical oversight and review of junior staff work.
• Performs work independently with broad authority.
• Mentors and develops junior engineers and designers.
• Coordinates with clients, utilities, and external stakeholders.
• Supports existing client relationships through technical input, proposals, and client engagement.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of design experience 
• Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Advanced knowledge of electrical power and building systems
• Experience with system coordination, protection, and controls integration
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary designs

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Neingeering
• Experience with large-scale infrastructure or energy programs
• Familiarity with utility coordination and interconnection process

Travel Requirements

• 10-25% of time will be spent traveling to job sites.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

• Prolonged periods of office work sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ascending and descending stairs, ladders, ramps, and possibly scaffolding.
• Occasionally completed field survey in loud, peak/low temperatures, and/or elevated locations.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Field survey, including traveling to job sites, to document existing conditions and observe construction progress.
• Light work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Pay Range

USD $134,430.00 - USD $201,922.00 /Yr.
