Description
A leading organisation is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager to join its investment team. This opportunity is ideal for a highly analytical professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and has a proven ability to generate investment insights, manage multi-asset portfolios, and contribute to superior client outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis of investment managers and their capabilities.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive investment cases and present research findings to the broader investment team.
- Contribute to manager selection, asset allocation decisions, portfolio positioning, and risk management strategies.
- Support the development and maintenance of investment buy lists through research-driven recommendations.
- Manage client and stakeholder relationships, including portfolio reviews, presentations, and new business engagements.
- Monitor industry trends, market developments, and global investment research to identify opportunities and risks.
- Maintain and contribute to investment and manager databases.
- Produce high-quality research reports and portfolio construction insights.
Requirements:
- BCom, CFA, CA, CIS or a related qualification.
- 3–6 years' experience in portfolio management, investment research, or asset management.
- Progress towards a postgraduate qualification such as CFA or FRM will be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, macroeconomics, portfolio construction, risk management, and financial instruments, including derivatives.
- Demonstrated ability to generate investment ideas that enhance returns and mitigate risk.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced MS Office proficiency; knowledge of VBA or other programming languages will be advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
- A proactive, curious, and results-driven approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- High attention to detail and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
