This role demands a detailed-oriented, creative professional who can maintain and elevate our standard of care. The position also requires someone with strong interpersonal and customer service skills, as building trusted relationships with pet owners is key to our success. Compensation is commissioned based. Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform professional haircuts for a variety of dog breeds, adhering to specific owner instructions and breed standards.Conduct initial consultations with pet owners to discuss grooming needs and offer recommendations based on individual dog breeds and coat conditions.Maintain a clean and safe environment for all grooming procedures, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and in excellent working condition.Utilize a range of tools and equipment, including clippers, scissors, nail grinders, and shampooing systems, to deliver top-quality grooming services.Identify any signs of health problems in dogs, such as parasites, infections, or skin problems, and report them to the pet owner for further action.Provide exceptional customer service by addressing any concerns or questions pet owners might have and ensuring they are satisfied with the services provided.Implement behavior management techniques during grooming sessions to ensure the safety and comfort of both the groomer and the pet.Educate pet owners on coat care, recommended grooming schedules, and best practices for at-home pet care.Continuously seek to improve skills and attend professional development workshops and seminars related to dog grooming and pet care.RequirementsPrevious professional grooming experience required.Proven ability to handle various breeds and temperaments of dogs comfortably and safely.Formal training/certification from a recognized pet grooming school preferred.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent verbal communication skills with both team members and clients.Capability to stand for extended periods of time and lift pets weighing up to 50 pounds.Up-to-date knowledge of grooming trends and techniques.Ability to work weekends and some holidays, reflecting the demands of a full-service pet grooming facility.Compassionate and patient nature with all animals.A commitment to maintaining a professional appearance and upholding the company's reputation.To apply, please send resume and portfolio of work.
