Job Description
Reporting to the Corporate Sustainability function, the Sustainability Data Specialist plays a key role in supporting global sustainability data management, reporting, systems administration, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this position, you will help ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of sustainability data while supporting internal reporting, external disclosures, customer requests, and audit readiness activities.Working closely with global teams across EHS, Facilities, Sustainability, Finance, IT, and external partners, you will collect, validate, analyze, and enhance sustainability data and related processes. Your primary focus will include Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, selected Scope 3 categories, as well as energy, water, waste, and other environmental metrics. Key responsibilities include maintaining sustainability data within reporting systems and related tools, supporting utility invoice management processes, preparing reporting outputs, and assisting with assurance and audit requirements. You will also contribute to data automation initiatives, dashboard development, process documentation, and user support to drive operational efficiency and data quality across the organization. You will report to the Sustainability Data Manager and be based in Katowice, working in a hybrid work model.
Your Responsibilities:
- Manage global sustainability datasets used for internal reporting, external disclosures, customer requests, and audit support.
- Administer sustainability data platforms and related tools, including location, site, questionnaire, tag, and data management activities.
- Support utility invoice and environmental data processes, including data collection, follow-up activities, and reconciliation across multiple systems.
- Review data completeness and accuracy, investigate variances and gaps, document findings, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, data extracts, presentations, and summaries that transform sustainability data into actionable business insights.
- Support sustainability reporting activities related to Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, selected Scope 3 categories, energy, water, waste, fleet, refrigerants, and other environmental metrics.
- Prepare inputs for sustainability disclosures, customer questionnaires, and leadership updates, including Sustainability Reports, SASB, CDP, EcoVadis, SBTi/Net Zero, and other reporting requirements.
- Support assurance and audit readiness activities by preparing evidence, reconciling data, documenting assumptions, and responding to reviewer inquiries.
- Maintain and enhance process documentation, governance materials, onboarding content, user guides, and responsibility matrices for sustainability data processes.
- Contribute to automation and process improvement initiatives, including Power BI dashboards, Power Apps, SharePoint solutions, data flows, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with global teams across EHS, Facilities, Sustainability, Finance, IT, as well as suppliers, platform providers, and external data partners to resolve data issues and improve data quality.
The Essentials – You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Science, Data Management, Sustainability, Environmental Science, STEM disciplines, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in data management, data analysis, sustainability reporting, environmental data management, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of data management principles, including data collection, validation, reconciliation, analysis, integration, and reporting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications; experience with Power BI, Power Automate, SAP, or similar data and reporting tools is an advantage.
- Experience working with large datasets, assessing data quality, identifying inconsistencies, and communicating findings to stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, global, and cross-functional environment.
