Description

The College of Performing Arts seeks highly motivated students to serve as Welcome Desk, Student Assistant. We’re looking for friendly, organized, and responsible individuals to support initiatives within the College of Performing Arts. This position reports to the Coordinator of Administration and is an ideal position for students who are interested in a career in non-profit, performing arts, or higher education administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary service point for the College of Performing Arts

  • Reception duties and answering general phone and email inquiries

  • Clerical duties such as filing, copying, scanning and shredding

  • Handling assignments from department heads, staff, and administration

  • Maintaining organization of office and supplies

  • Running errands on campus as requested by Performing Arts staff

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Recipient of Federal Work Study award

  • Must be a current New School student

  • Strong organization skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and responsible. Punctual and reliable.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Technical proficiency with computer applications including the Google Suite and MS Office

  • Ability to commit to a regular schedule for the duration of the semester

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in customer service

  • Experience in an administrative/office environment

Work Mode: On-Campus Position #LI-DNI

Hourly Rate: $17.00/hour

Hours per Week: 10
