As a Consulting Associate, Engineer, based in Charleston, WV, you'll contribute to meaningful environmental and engineering projects while building the technical, field, and consulting skills needed for long-term career success. This opportunity supports projects across the Charleston, WV, Southwest Virginia, and Southeastern Kentucky regions, with consideration given to qualified candidates located anywhere within the United States. This is a remote/hybrid position offering flexibility in your work schedule while providing hands-on experience on impactful client projects.

What Your Impact Is
- Support environmental inspection and compliance activities for major energy infrastructure projects.
- Contribute to civil and environmental engineering designs that improve stormwater management, erosion control, and site remediation.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, scientists, biologists, and engineers, to solve complex project challenges.
- Help clients navigate regulatory requirements while advancing environmental stewardship and sustainability goals.
- Support the successful delivery of projects that balance business objectives, environmental responsibility, and community impact.
What You'll Bring
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Geotechnical, or related engineering field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with project managers, technical teams, and clients.
- Driver's License Required: This position requires a valid driver's license and/or the ability to operate a company vehicle due to the nature of job duties, which include frequent travel to various client locations across a large geographical area.
- This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
Preferred
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or FE exam registration.
- Internship or professional experience in civil/environmental engineering.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil3D, GIS, or stormwater modeling software (training available).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate reports and engineering designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform environmental inspections and support stormwater compliance activities during construction.
- Assist with civil and environmental engineering design deliverables, including site plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and stormwater management plans.
- Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and field documentation.
- Participate in both field-based and office-based project work across a variety of energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality technical solutions that meet client objectives.
- Ensure health, safety, risk, and quality standards are maintained on all project assignments.
