Job Description

THE ROLE: VP, Corporate Development

The Vice President, Corporate Development plays an integral role in shaping and executing A+E Global Media's strategic growth agenda. This role identifies, evaluates, and advances M&A, investment, partnership, and other strategic opportunities that strengthen our business and create long-term enterprise value.

The VP brings rigorous financial analysis, strategic judgment, and a deep understanding of the entertainment landscape to complex, high-impact decisions. This role also provides leadership and mentorship to the Corporate Development & Strategy (CDS) team and may represent A+E in the governance of portfolio investments.

MORE OF WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead the evaluation and execution of strategic transactions. Assess M&A, investment, partnership, and other corporate development opportunities; vet proposals; develop investment theses and business cases; and lead rigorous strategic and financial analysis to inform senior-level decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for enterprise growth. Partner proactively with A+E’s operating units and senior leaders to understand business priorities, identify unmet needs, evaluate market opportunities, and develop inorganic and strategic pathways to accelerate growth.
  • Lead and develop the CDS team. Provide mentorship, direction, and quality control across the team’s work, setting a high bar for analytical rigor, strategic thinking, communication, and execution while helping team members expand their capabilities and impact
  • Serve as a trusted strategic advisor. Synthesize complex financial, competitive, market, and operational information into clear recommendations and effectively communicate the strategic rationale, risks, tradeoffs, and potential value of opportunities to executive stakeholders.
  • Provide governance and stewardship of strategic investments. Represent A+E, as appropriate, on the corporate boards of portfolio investments, monitoring performance, contributing strategic perspective, and protecting A+E’s interests while building productive relationships with management teams and fellow investors.
  • Support highly confidential enterprise priorities. Gather, analyze, and synthesize sensitive information in support of the Office of the Chairman and other senior executives, exercising exceptional judgment, discretion, responsiveness, and attention to detail.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced business training and experience.
  • At least 12 years of experience in TMT Investment Banking and/or Corporate Development in Media with a demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility and impact.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading M&A transactions (from identification through closing) including valuation, financial modeling, due diligence, transaction structuring, and senior-level decision support.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO HAVE:

  • Strong strategic and commercial judgment, including the ability to evaluate opportunities within the broader context of industry dynamics, competitive positioning, organizational priorities, and long-term value creation.
  • Exceptional skill in quantitative analysis, and both written and oral communication
  • Demonstrated discretion and sound judgment when handling highly sensitive, confidential, and potentially market-moving information.
  • Executive-level written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex issues and communicate recommendations clearly and persuasively to senior leaders, boards, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate effectively in an evolving environment, balancing multiple high-priority initiatives while demonstrating ownership, adaptability, collaboration, and accountability.
  • An active embrace of working hands-on, with a sense of humility

This role requires 3 days a week in our New York offices with occasional trips to Stamford, CT.
