Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
At NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA), we're looking for a highly capable and strategic leader to join our Organisational Performance team as Manager Organisational Performance – Monitoring and Reporting.
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for shaping how NZTA monitors and reports organisational performance and provides performance insight to key stakeholders. You'll lead the design and delivery of key statutory and corporate reporting products, ensuring decision-makers have access to high-quality insights that strengthen accountability, support strategic conversations and help drive organisational improvement.
Leading a team of performance reporting specialists, you'll oversee the delivery of external accountability reporting, executive performance reporting and other high-profile reporting requirements. You'll work closely with senior leaders across NZTA to connect strategy, business planning, performance measurement and reporting into a cohesive organisational performance system.
This is an opportunity to influence how performance information is used across a complex organisation, build reporting capability and maturity, and help NZTA deliver better outcomes for New Zealanders.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Proven experience leading monitoring, reporting, performance management or organisational performance functions within large or complex organisations
Demonstrated success leading and developing high performing teams and building capability in performance reporting and insight generation
Expert knowledge of public sector accountability, statutory reporting obligations and machinery of government
Experience designing and delivering high-quality reporting products that support executive and strategic decision making
A strong customer and end user focus, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and actionable insights
Significant experience building and maintaining trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across diverse business functions
Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and lifting organisational performance reporting maturity
Strong programme or project management capability, with experience delivering outcomes across cross-functional and matrix environments
Excellent written, verbal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively at Executive Leadership Team and Board level
A high level of digital capability, or a strong interest in using technology, automation and data to improve performance systems
A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application in the public sector.
