Role description:
Arcadis IBI is seeking a skilled Traffic cum Transportation Engineer specialized in
Traffic/Transportation studies. The ideal candidate will have a background in traffic engineering, and data analytics a minimum of professional experience of 1 year or a Fresher. As a member of the team, you will
play a crucial role in data collection and assessing the traffic-related aspects of Highway assets
and Transport nodes for various projects including Highways and Urban sector. Your knowledge
in data analytics tools, communication and presentation skills will be essential in delivering
successful due diligence and traffic impact assessment studies
Role accountabilities:
- Monitor and evaluate highway incident management and road safety performance
against defined KPIs, SLAs, SOPs, and service requirements.
- Analyse incident management and operational data to identify response delays,
performance gaps, trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for operational
improvement.
- Oversee the end-to-end incident lifecycle, including incident reporting, dispatch,
response monitoring, tracking, escalation, resolution, and closure.
- Monitor and assess the performance of service providers, operational teams, and
emergency response resources against established operational targets.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, MIS reports, performance scorecards, executive
summaries, and management reports to support decision-making.
- Conduct operational reviews and audits to assess compliance with road safety, incident
management, and emergency response procedures.
- Coordinate with clients, and other stakeholders to address operational challenges and
improve service delivery.
- Support incident reviews, root-cause analysis, and the development of corrective and
preventive actions to enhance highway safety and operational performance.
- Assist in the implementation, testing, validation, and continuous improvement of Incident
Management Systems (IMS, and technology-enabled road safety initiatives.
- Participate in client meetings, performance reviews, workshops, and improvement
initiatives, providing analytical insights and recommendations
Qualifications & Experience:
- 1 Relevant experience in road safety, highway operations, incident management,
emergency response, ITS, transportation operations, or control room
environments.
- Strong understanding of incident management processes, operational SOPs, service
standards, and performance KPIs.
- Experience in operational monitoring, performance assessment, incident lifecycle
management, or emergency response coordination.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel (data analysis, dashboards, pivot tables) and PowerPoint.
- Experience with Business Intelligence and Data Analytics tools such as Power BI,
Tableau, GIS, SQL, or similar analytics platforms will be an advantage.
- Ability to interpret operational data and convert findings into actionable recommendations.
- Exposure to advanced analytics, predictive modelling, GIS, or data visualization tools will be an advantage.
- Master’s degree in civil engineering/ Transportation Engineering/ Transport Planning/ Road
Safety Engineering or a related discipline with 4-6 years of experience.
