Plans, organizes, and directs the entire operations of the semiconductor safety program at the MacroTechnology location. Assists with developing and implementing policies and procedures and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and conform to best practices.
Salary: $100,000 - $153,000 per year; DOE

Essential Duties:
Develops and implements ASUs semiconductor safety program and oversees program implementation at the ASU MacroTechnology Works facility, in collaboration with other Environmental Health and Safety leadership.
Collaborates with Knowledge Enterprise, semiconductor researchers and tenants to assess Environmental Health and Safety infrastructure needs with startup companies and local industry, and other business partners on behalf of the program.
Coordinates communication with university colleges, local industry, tenants and other university units working at ASU MacroTechnology.
Works and other campus locations that use semiconductors or related semiconductor equipment or gases.
Develops budget requests for the semiconductor safety program at MacroTechnology Works; confers with university officials, budget administrators and staff to make determinations for budget development, strategic planning, requests, and management analysis and accountability reports.
Organizes, publicizes, and attends meetings and other functions to ensure implementation of Environmental Health and Safety programs at ASU MacroTechnology.
Works at other locations involved in semiconductor activities.
Maintains data necessary for management of Environmental Health and Safety programs at ASU MacroTechnology.
Promotes and communicates semiconductor safety program goals and objectives.
Directs, trains, and evaluates staff.
Hires and onboards new staff.
May provide expertise for other ASU facilities.

Desired Qualifications:
Knowledge of Semiconductor manufacturing processes, gas monitoring equipment, semiconductor tools and facilities equipment.
Comprehensive knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety regulatory programs affecting semiconductor manufacturing and research.
Professional certification such as Professional Engineer, Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist.
Successful track record in semiconductor safety work.
Expertise in physical intrinsic reliability safety models, reliability failure mechanism, product safety screening methods.
Working Environment:
30% - activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work.
Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
Work in laboratories, cleanrooms, shops, waste facilities and other hazardous locations.
Work in indoor and outdoor environments that may include extreme weather conditions, hot in summer and cold in winter. Participate in respiratory protection program; assists with respiratory fit testing and training.
Participate in ASU medical surveillance programs, which may include vaccinations.
