About the job
Delart is home to a team of world-class engineers and project leaders dedicated to developing the next generation of advanced networking technologies, consumer devices, and innovative technology solutions. Trusted by some of the world’s leading technology companies, we deliver highly scalable, mission-critical solutions that power both consumer and business applications globally. Since our founding in 2017, we have been at the forefront of designing cutting-edge networking, telecommunications, and consumer products, while driving end-to-end project execution and creating transformative technology applications.
Join our Lab Operations team supporting multiple R&D labs across the Bay Area. In this skilled IT and systems role, you will keep lab infrastructure running and reliable—deploying and patching lab hosts, serving as the first responder for lab network issues, managing device registration and certificates, and building automations to scale day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities
- Own device lifecycle management—deploy, image, configure, and decommission lab hosts (Linux/Ubuntu/CentOS, Windows, macOS) across multiple lab spaces and buildings.
- Manage OS patching and security updates across lab devices to keep systems current, compliant, and reliable.
- Serve as the first point of contact for lab network issues—triage and resolve connectivity, IP/DHCP, IPv6, and 802.1x authentication problems.
- Coordinate with cross-functional partner teams—including network infrastructure, patch management, and network security—to escalate and resolve complex or multi-lab device issues.
- Provision and onboard new devices and networks, including device registration and monitoring of device health and inactive-device alerts.
- Manage certificates on lab hosts, including 802.1x certificate deployment and renewal.
- Build and maintain automations (Bash, Python, and scripting) to streamline device registration, monitoring, and patching workflows.
- Design and deploy a scalable virtual machine solution to expand lab infrastructure and make VMs available to engineering teams.
- Support multiple lab teams and programs as a shared service, coordinating setup and troubleshooting across sites.
- Document lab systems, configurations, and operational processes so they are easily accessible across teams.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field, OR equivalent experience with relevant IT/networking certifications.
- 3+ years of experience in IT systems administration, lab operations, or a similar technical support role.
- Strong hands-on experience administering and patching Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS), Windows, and macOS systems.
- Proficiency with Bash and Python scripting and building automations for repetitive systems administration workflows.
- Working knowledge of networking (DHCP, IP/IPv6, DNS, 802.1x authentication) sufficient to serve as a first-line troubleshooter.
- Experience deploying, imaging, and managing fleets of lab or end-user devices.
- Familiarity with device provisioning, registration, and certificate management.
- Strong documentation and cross-team coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Red Hat/Linux certifications).
- Experience designing and deploying virtualization / VM infrastructure (VMware, KVM, Proxmox, or Hyper-V) at scale.
- Familiarity with configuration management and fleet patching tools (e.g., Ansible, MDM, SCCM, Chef, or Puppet).
- Experience supporting lab or test environments with mixed hardware and operating-system platforms.
