Job Description
Evergreen Innovation Group, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking an experienced Precon Engineer to join our Modular team in Surprise, AZ to support prefabrication-focused preconstruction activities by assisting with design review, cost evaluations, and constructability considerations related to manufacturing and installation workflows. They will coordinate with design, Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), Family of Companies (FoC) engineering, and production teams to gather information and support alignment of scope, budget, and schedule. They review drawings, models, and fabrication inputs to identify issues and contribute to the development of prefab-ready solutions. Finally, they apply foundational knowledge of construction and prefabrication processes while working under guidance on projects of moderate scope. Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
Reviews drawings, models, and fabrication inputs to identify scope gaps and design inconsistencies impacting prefabrication and documents findings for team review.
Assists with quantity takeoffs, basic cost studies, and data collection to support prefab estimating and benchmarking efforts.
Supports coordination with production engineering, trade partners, and design teams, including VDC, MEP, and Family of Companies, to gather input on constructability, system selection, and installation approaches.
Assists in reviewing proposals for prefabricated assemblies and systems to support scope comparisons and bid tabulations.
Supports development and maintenance of prefab cost estimates, including quantities, labor, materials, logistics, and vendor information, under direction from senior staff.
Prepares portions of preconstruction deliverables, including feasibility inputs, cost summaries, and logistics considerations comparing prefabricated and field-built approaches.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
3–6 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, engineering, or related construction or prefabrication roles required.
