The Role and Impact


As a Manufacturing Systems Software Development Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and sustaining software solutions critical to Intel's manufacturing ecosystem.

You'll have the opportunity to work across the entire software stack, from cloud and container platforms to applications, middleware, firmware, and embedded systems. In this role, you'll help deliver the technologies that enable factory operations and advance Intel's manufacturing capabilities.

Your contributions will directly enhance operational efficiency, product quality, and scalability, ensuring Intel remains at the forefront of technology manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, debug, and optimize software for factory automation, wafer processing, and packaging systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate hardware, software, and systems into seamless manufacturing workflows.
  • Develop automated solutions to improve process monitoring, data collection, and real-time analysis in mission-critical environments.
  • Create and validate software test plans, ensuring compliance with quality and performance standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex software and hardware issues across multiple technical domains.
  • Implement software engineering process improvements to enhance scalability, reliability, and efficiency in production.
  • Support new manufacturing product introductions by developing and deploying robust software solutions tailored to factory requirements.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing teams, enabling rapid resolution of production challenges.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience; or PhD with 1+ years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience working with one or more programming languages and applications.
  • Strong experience with the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, implementation, testing, debugging, validation, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols, operating system configurations, and secure code development.
  • Technical expertise in scripting and automation for manufacturing environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with manufacturing systems, automated material handling, or distributed enterprise applications.
  • Proficiency in lab equipment usage and data analysis for process optimization.
  • Knowledge of high-speed testing, mixed-signal systems, or thermal subsystem components.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Familiarity with Intel's manufacturing processes or test engineering technologies is a plus.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $128,880.00-181,940.00 USD
