Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join a team. This is a 100% in-office role, offering a unique opportunity to lead critical accounting operations for our reinsurance business. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance and/or Reinsurance accounting, coupled with exceptional technical accounting skills and leadership capabilities. This is a high-visibility role in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with significant cross-functional exposure.

Compensation Package

• Base Salary Range: $121,000 - $144,500
• Annual Incentive Bonus: 10%

Responsibilities

Accounting Operations

• Manage daily accounting activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Resolve general ledger and subledger discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.

Reinsurance Accounting

• Oversee significant portions of the reinsurance accounting function.
• Support financial statement preparation and reporting.
• Maintain accounting accuracy across complex insurance transactions.

Premium Accounting & Accounts Receivable

• Oversee accounts receivable reconciliations and review aging reports.
• Manage cash application activities and resolve outstanding balances.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on collection and reconciliation efforts.

Financial Reporting & Close

• Lead month-end and quarter-end close activities.
• Prepare GAAP and STAT financial statements.
• Ensure all reporting deadlines are met accurately and on time.

Leadership

• Manage and develop accounting staff, including reviewing work and providing coaching.
• Delegate workloads effectively and provide ongoing feedback.

Qualifications/Requirements

Industry Experience

• Strong preference for candidates with:
  • Property & Casualty Insurance experience.
  • Reinsurance accounting experience.
  • Insurance accounting operations background.
