Job Summary**
The Senior General Shift Executive will be responsible for overseeing and managing all operational activities during their assigned shift at HINDUSTAN UNILEVER LIMITED. This role ensures efficient production, adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and effective team management to meet production targets and maintain a smooth workflow.
Job Responsibilities**
* Supervise and lead a team of production operators and support staff during the assigned shift, including performance management, training, and development.
* Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality specifications, and production schedules.
* Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions promptly to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
* Ensure strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
* Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods during the shift, coordinating with logistics and planning teams as needed.
* Prepare and maintain accurate shift reports, production logs, and other relevant documentation.
* Collaborate with other shift executives and department heads to ensure seamless transitions between shifts and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement Lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
* Conduct regular quality checks and ensure products meet established standards before release.
* Respond to emergencies and escalate critical issues to appropriate management levels.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Production, or Industrial), Operations Management, or a related field.
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or shift lead role, preferably within the FMCG sector.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage a diverse team.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure.
* Proficiency in using manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by shift operations.
* Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
