Next Door at Astor Place is a true culinary adventure located inside the Wegmans store in the heart of the East Village. As a Lead Cook, you’ll be part of a passionate team delivering contemporary Japanese cuisine with global inspiration. This is your opportunity to work with world-class ingredients, sharpen your skills and lead a team in a fast-paced, open kitchen environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and inspire a team of cooks, sharing your passion and expertise
• Set the pace and tone for a high-performing, efficient kitchen
• Forecast prep needs and manage sushi station operations
• Ensure compliance with all state restaurant health codes and regulations

What You Bring

• 2+ years’ experience as a line cook
• Background in upscale or fine dining Asian cuisine
• Expert knife skills and ability to work under pressure
• Experience working across multiple kitchen stations
• Experience leading a culinary team
• Familiarity with inventory management and food cost control
