Description

The School of Architecture Development Work-study student position will assist the UVA School of Architecture advancement team towards its mission of fundraising and engagement for the School.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Stewardship – thanking donors through phone calls, emails, letters and short videos. Assisting with Thank -a-donor day logistics in Spring.
  • Events – staffing events, drafting briefing books and bios, coordinating logistics and office support
  • Research – on prospects, on funding priority areas, creating presentations
  • Data – creating lists, analyzing data sets, visualization
  • Communications – drafting emails and invitations, being a liaison with student groups
  • Career Development – project manager for A-School Alumni Mentorship Program, assisting with matching pods, monthly newsletters, additional programming

Eligibility 

  • Undergraduate Students, Graduate Students, PhD Students
  • Preference given to FWS eligible applicants

Position Dates
Fall 2026, 14 weeks; Spring 2027, 14 weeks; employment is preferred for both semesters

Time Commitment 
10-15 hours per week; attendance to weekly team meetings on ZOOM for 30 minutes

Pay Range
$16.50/hour for undergrad and $18/hour for graduate students. Federal work study students preferred.

Experience and Skills
Looking for a student who can attend a weekly 30-minute virtual meeting (during work hours) but work independently on projects and research. Student should be comfortable with donor/alumni outreach and attending some local events.
