From your PASSION to ours

Lactalis USA , part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Import Export Regulatory Compliance Manager based in Buffalo, New York.  The purpose of this position is to manage the Export/Import compliance activities of Lactalis Deli, Inc. (Import & Exporter) to ensure adherence with all applicable laws and regulations and improving operational efficiencies. This position will report to the Assistant Director – Import/Export Sales Administration & Customer Service. 


 

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:


Exports: 

  • Ensure that all export transactions comply with applicable laws and regulations in the regions/countries where we do business by applying advanced knowledge of regulations and requirements and coordinating with our local subsidiaries as well as our sales and marketing teams to support business requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement, best practices and standardization through the understanding of global trade regulations, international supply chain and customs documentation. Assess existing and future requirements.
  • Develop/Update/Maintain export compliance processes and policies.
  • Liaise with Quality Departments to issue all required documentation to register products with foreign governments.
  • Manage all required export sanitary registration documentation including but not limited to: Authorization Letters, Certificates of Free Sale, etc.
  • Complete and Sign COOs/FTAs; Maintain relevant records including commodity classification and internal due diligence determinations.
  • Complete/Update Factory Registrations (FDA ELM, Korea MFDS, etc.)
  • Assist with Commodity Customs Classifications as needed.
  • Manage USDA AMS Documentation Audits.

Imports: 

 

  • Manage/Update/Maintain Food Facility Registrations (40+ factories).
  • Assist Foreign Factories with FDA Inspection Questionnaires.
  • FSVP Importer Program: Maintain List of Products/Customers, maintain and update FSVP Agreement Letters, and coordinate administration of the FSVP Program with the Corporate Quality Team.
  • Stay current on all import regulations (FDA, Customs) and Trade Actions (e.g. Section 301 Tariffs) and implement necessary actions to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with Commodity Customs Classifications as needed.


Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:


 Education

  • Ideal incumbent will possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from a College or University.

Experience

  • Two+ years related experience in relevant field.
  • Knowledge of USMCA and other Free Trade Agreements, Rules of Origin, a must.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft suite (Excel, Word).

Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain rigorous accuracy/quality standards.
  • Must be self-motivated, organized and possess strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and complex workload.
  • Team player able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make effective autonomous decisions.
  • Basic French and/or Spanish a + but not required.
