Description

APM Terminals

At APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, we enable global trade and drive sustainable growth. What drives us forward is a mindset of always improving — observing how work happens, identifying what creates value, and removing what gets in the way. We constantly look for smarter, simpler, and safer ways of operating. If you thrive in environments where people value learning and are committed to continuously improve daily operations, join us and be apart of our journey.

As an Asset Management Integration Lead, you will play a key role in the transformation of the North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven (NTB), supporting one of APM Terminals' most significant strategic investment programmes. Based onsite in Bremerhaven, Germany, you will lead the asset management integration workstream, ensuring maintenance strategies, outsourced maintenance contracts, and organisational capabilities evolve alongside the terminal's transition to a modern, automated, and electrified operation. Working closely with operational teams and external partners, you will help ensure business continuity while enabling long-term operational excellence.

Location: Onsite in Bremerhaven, Germany.

What We Can Offer

At APMT Terminals, we foster a dynamic learning and training culture that empowers our employees to excel. Our commitment to improvement is driven by Lean principles, ensuring that every team member has the opportunity to develop their skills and advance their careers. Experience a diverse, multinational workplace where your operational insights directly influence how we work.

  • Contribute to the transformation of one of Europe's major container terminals through automation and modernisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the performance of outsourced maintenance contracts covering terminal equipment, buildings, and infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement asset management and preventive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and operational performance.
  • Lead the transition from outcome-based outsourced maintenance to a proactive asset management approach aligned with APM Terminals standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance partners to develop the capabilities required to maintain automated and fully electrified terminal equipment.
  • Build a fit-for-purpose maintenance organisation and operating model to support the future automated terminal.
  • Support terminal operations by ensuring maintenance strategies enable high equipment availability throughout the transformation programme.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance processes, contract management, and organisational development.

  • Continuous improvement mindset: we are looking for someone who brings a thoughtful improvement mindset—curious about how work gets done and motivated to make meaningful, sustainable improvements over time.
  • Leadership expectation: We are looking for people who consistently puts customers first, leads by example with respect for people, delivers results with integrity, and drives continuous improvement by solving problems at the root, developing people, and raising standards every day.
  • Experience in container terminal operations, ideally within maintenance, asset management, or engineering functions.
  • Proven experience leading organisational change, contract management, and maintenance transformation initiatives.
  • Experience implementing Lean principles and driving continuous improvement within operational environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multicultural and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, or a related discipline. Experience with automated or electrified equipment fleets is considered an advantage. Fluent English is required; basic German is preferred.
